Privacy Policy

What we collect

To prepare your appeal we collect what the City's appeal form requires and what your evidence needs: your name, mailing address, phone, and email; your property address and OPA account number; the property-condition information and repair estimates you enter; photographs you upload; and your electronic signature if you purchase the filing service. Payment card details go directly to Stripe, our payment processor — we never see or store your card number.

What we do with it

We use your information to build your appeal documents, to transmit your signed appeal to the Board of Revision of Taxes when you direct us to, and to email you receipts and status updates about your own appeal. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone except: the City of Philadelphia (your appeal filing itself), Stripe (payment processing), and the infrastructure providers that run the service (hosting, database, and email delivery), each only as needed to operate it.

Public data

Assessment values, sales records, and property characteristics shown by the service come from the City of Philadelphia's public open-data sources. Checking an address on our homepage queries those public records; it does not add your information to them.

Storage and retention

Your appeal documents, photos, and signature are stored in access-controlled private storage and retained so you can retrieve your documents and we can evidence what was filed for the tax year. To have your information deleted after your appeal concludes, email hello@appealsquad.com and we will delete it except where we must keep a record of a payment or a filing.

The chat assistant

Questions typed into the site chat may be processed by an AI service to generate the answer. Don't put card numbers or other sensitive details in the chat; it never needs them.

Your choices

Every email we send about your appeal is transactional (receipts, filing confirmations). If we ever run a mailing list, it will be opt-in and every message will have an unsubscribe link. For any privacy question or request, contact hello@appealsquad.com.
